Cross Current Maker’s Posters

Cross Currents was a residency partnership conceived and organised by Bothy Project, Fogo Island Arts, and Fogo Island Workshops that ran in 2021-22. To celebrate the project we made four special Risograph posters, one each for makers Florence Dwyer, Clare Robb, Nicole Travers and Larry Weyand, and a fifth with the commissioned essay Listening for the call of place, by designer and anthropologist Charlotte Linton.

The risograph posters are now available for purchase here.

Florence Dwyer is an artist, designer and maker living and working in Glasgow, influenced by the processes underpinning experimental archaeology. Clare Robb is a jeweller and object-maker, her works are retainers of memory, inspired by collecting and gathering small, discrete objects. She lives and works in Carnoustie, on the east coast of Scotland. Nicole Travers is a self-taught beader, tanner and artist creating functional objects and artworks that respond to her culture and heritage as a Mi’kmaw and First Nation woman from the Bay of Islands, Newfoundland. Larry Weyand is a rug hooker whose work defies the established properties of traditional floor décor, domesticity, and gender. They are based in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.
