Fogo Island Arts and The Hnatyshyn Foundation are seeking applications from young Canadian curators for a six-week residency in 2020.
The Hnatyshyn Foundation – Fogo Island Arts Young Curator Residency provides an opportunity for an emerging Canadian curator between the ages of 25 and 30 to participate in a six-week residency with Fogo Island Arts.
The residency will cover the costs of travel to and from Fogo Island, accommodations in a traditional Newfoundland home and use of a vehicle for on-island transportation. The residency also includes a stipend to cover food costs and incidentals.
During the residency period, participants have opportunities to work and interact with Fogo Island Arts staff, Canadian and international artists-in-residence, and members of the community. Candidates are selected based on their body of work and their ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
*The residency period is six weeks in June-July or September–October 2020, but other dates may be possible, subject to availability.
The program guidelines and application portal are available online at The Hnatyshyn Foundation.
