
Claudia Arozqueta
About the Writer
Claudia Arozqueta is an interdisciplinary historian, curator, and writer. She is the author of Heartbeat Art (MIT Press, 2025). Her writing has also appeared in catalogues, books, academic journals, and magazines, including Leonardo, Artforum, e-flux Criticism, etc. Arozqueta holds a PhD in Art History and Theory from the University of New South Wales, Australia. From 2011 to 2013, she was the director of Enjoy Gallery in Wellington, New Zealand. In 2014, Arozqueta founded Modelab, a nomadic artistic initiative exploring public space, ecologies, and experimental historical narratives. As an independent curator she has organized over twenty exhibitions in international spaces
Arozqueta has been a curator and writer-in-residence at Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, Montréal (2023); Soma, Mexico City (2021); Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris (2019); etc. She has received numerous awards from international arts foundations from Mexico, New Zealand, and Australia.
