Anita Nowak

Anita Nowak, PhD is an empathy expert and award-winning educator at McGill University, passionate about Next Gen leadership. She is also a Fellow with the International Women’s Forum and writing her first book, Purposeful Empathy. Anita has held various leadership roles in higher education focused on social innovation. For the past decade, Anita has taught at the Desautels Faculty of Management. Her courses include Leadership, Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation and Managing for Impact. In recognition of her teaching excellence, she was named Professor of the Year in 2014 and 2019. Anita is also a certified coach who advises high net worth families to wield their philanthropy for social impact and Co-Founder of PVM Studio, an international advisory firm dedicated to supporting purpose-driven family offices, foundations and companies. Anita is a multiple TEDx speaker with ~100K views and hosts a podcast and YouTube series called Purposeful Empathy which aims to amplify the voices of people who believe the world needs more empathy and are doing something about it.
