About the Artist
Shaun Motsi is a visual artist based between Berlin and Brussels. Working across painting, video and installation, Motsi’s work examines the contingent distinctions between subject, object, self, and other. Motsi’s work has recently been shown at CAPC, Bordeaux (2026); MMK, Frankfurt am Main (2025); Deichtorhallen, Hamburg (2024); Auto Italia, London (2023); Haus der Kunst, Munich (2023); Freiburg Biennial, Freiburg (2023); Shedhalle, Zürich (2020); and Portikus, Frankfurt am Main (2020), among others. A graduate of the HfBK Städelschule, Frankfurt am Main, and a former resident of the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam (2023-2025), Motsi received the ars viva prize in 2023.
