Fog & Mist Residency
In a landmark partnership, Para Site (Hong Kong), FIA and MOCA Toronto launched the Fog & Mist Residency in 2025. This pilot project aimed to foster cross-cultural exchange and provide a platform for emerging artists from Hong Kong.
about Fog & Mist Residency
Wong Winsome Dumalagan was the recipient of the inaugural Fog & Mist residency from July through September, 2025. Dumalagan’s practice revolves around videography, images, and installations, often rooted in the cultural contexts she traverses. She delves into understanding places, roots, and mobility, exploring how everyday narratives of people, nature, and objects construct knowledge, through both planned and serendipitous encounters.
Supported by Eleanor & Francis Shen, the Fog & Mist Residency presents a unique opportunity for a HK-based artist to immerse themselves in a three-month residency on Fogo Island, Newfoundland, Canada. The new program seeks to engage artists whose work reflects the dynamic discourses and practices relevant to Hong Kong as a place and concept, bridging diverse cultural perspectives and fostering collaboration across borders.
