Rob Crosse: Team Roedale, Clear as a Bell, Prime Time, Old Growth & Mall Walking

Fogo Island Arts presented a film screening by artist-in-residence, Rob Crosse, on the 20th of April, 2022 at the Tilting Parish Hall to a lively crowd.

Rob Crosse presented a selection of films that explore themes of care in relation to aging. Crosse’s work often engages with groups of older people to explore activities that form mechanisms of support, modes of communication, and recreation. This screening will include Team Roedale (2012), Clear as a Bell (2016), Prime Time (2017), Old Growth (2021) and Mall Walking (2015), with a total running time of one hour.

Rob Crosse completed his MFA in Fine Arts at the Slade School of Fine Art in London. He was a participant in the Berlin Programme for Artists BPA from 2019 to 2020. In 2020 he was awarded the Ars Viva Prize along with Sung Tieu and Richard Sides. His recent solo and group exhibitions include Ars Viva 2020 Museum Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt am Main, DE, Bad Bodies at Tomorrow Maybe, Eaton, HK and Jerwood Solo Presentations, Jerwood, London, UK. His films have been shown as part of Lafayette Anticipations, Foundation d’entreprise Galeries Lafayette, Paris, FR; Video Art at Midnight, Babylon Cinema, Berlin, DE; Queer: Both Sides Now V, Videotage, HK; Different Ways, Lux, London, UK; and Transactions of Desire, Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, UK, among others. He has completed residencies as part of Videoclub and Videotage Both Sides Now, at Eaton, HK; Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Nebraska, US; Katara Art Center, Doha, QA and Foundation Marcelino Botin, Santander, ES.
